The Student Senate is a student organization with legislative functions at Universitas Bakrie. SM-UB consists of representatives from each academic year, each academic program, and representatives from student activity units.

The duties and authorities of SM-UB include absorbing, collecting, and formulating the aspirations of KM-UB members to be recommended during working meetings; formulating student body regulations in line with the aspirations and needs of UB students; and overseeing all student organizations in carrying out their activities in accordance with the constitution and applicable regulations. In fulfilling its role as a legislative body, the Student Senate operates through six committees.
